Community Programmes

Our community programmes provide preventative, identity-affirming and practical support for women, girls and LGBTQ+ young people, with particular consideration given to those who may experience additional barriers to accessing support.

Our work includes confidence and self-esteem, identity and belonging, healthy relationships, wellbeing, personal safety, employability and enterprise, alongside our prevention work around Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and County Lines exploitation.

Community programmes can include Confidence & Culture, Proud Essentials, Proud to Trade, workshops, events and other community-based activities.

Unlike our commissioned education pathways, community programmes may have different entry routes. Depending on the programme, people may be able to self-refer, register directly, be referred by a professional or organisation, or attend through a commissioned programme or community partner.

Our Community Referral Guide explains:

• Who each programme is for
• Age and eligibility requirements
• Whether self-referrals are accepted
• How parents and carers can enquire
• Professional and community organisation referrals
• How to register for activities and events
• Safeguarding and consent requirements
• What happens after a referral
• How we handle confidential information
• How organisations can commission programmes for their communities
