Referrals for Education, SEND & Supported Learning

Our Education Pathways support young people who may need a different approach to education, supported learning, preparation for adulthood, employability or practical vocational learning.

This includes our Future Pathways provision and Work Experience & Employability Pathway.

Our provision may be suitable for young people with SEND, including those with EHCPs, emerging or identified additional needs, difficulties accessing mainstream education, reduced attendance, EBSA, previous exclusions or alternative provision, and young people who need a more personalised route back into learning and progression.

A young person does not need an EHCP or formal diagnosis for us to have an initial conversation about whether we may be able to meet their needs.

However, funded education placements must be agreed and commissioned by the organisation responsible for the young person's education. Depending on their circumstances, this may be their school, college or local authority.

Parents, carers and professionals can use our Education Referral Guide to understand:

• Who can refer
• Who can fund a placement
• What to do if the young person has an EHCP
• What to do if they do not have an EHCP
• How to request an EHC needs assessment
• What to do if they are not currently attending school
• Elective Home Education
• Section 19 and children missing suitable education
• Changing an existing Alternative Provision
• Part-time and blended education arrangements
• SEND Tribunal and disagreement routes
• The referral process for Future Pathways
• Contact information and links for our seven local boroughs

Borough information is provided for Lewisham, Bromley, Southwark, Greenwich, Bexley, Lambeth and Croydon.
