Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers are an important part of Proud to Be Me CIC and can contribute their skills, experience and time across different areas of our work.

Volunteering with us can be an opportunity to gain practical experience, develop existing skills, build confidence, contribute to your community and support work that creates meaningful opportunities for young people and adults.

We welcome people at different stages of their journey. You might be a student looking for experience, someone returning to work, an experienced professional wanting to give something back, or someone with lived experience who wants to use what they have learned to support others.

Volunteer opportunities may include supporting community events, Future Pathways Learning, hair and beauty activities, work experience and employability programmes, outreach, administration, fundraising, social media and content, LGBTQ+ community work, workshops and project delivery.

We aim to make volunteering meaningful. Where appropriate, volunteers can gain hands-on experience, develop transferable skills, receive guidance from our team and build evidence of their contribution for future education, employment or professional development.

Because some of our work involves children, young people and adults who may be vulnerable, certain volunteer positions will require appropriate safeguarding checks, references and an Enhanced DBS.
